Well, Bears fans in Chicago were not the only ones who were interested in seeing how the team would look on national television against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The FOX Sports PR social media account shared the data behind the Bears' 38-0 shutout of the Bills. In total, 5.1 million viewers tuned in for the game, which became FOX's most-viewed preseason game since 2021, when 7.4 million viewers watched the Hall of Fame game.

Here are some other interesting facts FOX shared about the Bears-Bills game:

  • Most-watched sporting event of the weekend
  • Up +11% over last year (vs. 4.6 million for Saints-49ers game)
  • Audience peaked at 5.9 million viewers from 9:00-9:15 pm EST)

America has spoken: they are interested in the Bears

The Bears put on quite a show for the audience and fans at the game with their stellar performance on both offense and defense. They finished with 528 total yards of offense and allowed the Bills to gain just 180 yards. Chicago had 31 first downs to the Bills' 12.

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was the star of the game with 107 yards and one touchdown in two drives with the offense. Williams' backup, Tyson Bagent, was just four yards under 200 and had a touchdown as well.

It was a total team win that Bears fans have been hoping to see after the turbulent training camp from the offense. The good news is that it all seems to be coming together at the right time for the Bears.

There is one final test before the regular season on Friday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. America might want to flock to their televisions to see Williams face off against Patrick Mahomes in the hopes that it might someday be a Super Bowl preview. Well, at least Bears fans hope it will be.
