Chicago Bears fans might have been a bit too rough on new head coach Ben Johnson after celebrating his first victory with the team.
The Bears got a convincing 38-0 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night in front of a massive national crowd on FOX and a large home crowd. It was one decision Johnson made at the end of the game that didn't quite end in cheers: he chose to kneel the ball near the goal line instead of attempting to score over 40 points.
"I looked up and you get lost sometimes on where you're at in the game, although the fans behind me let me know that it wasn't a good decision. There were a lot of boos, welcome to Chicago."

Lay off the man a bit, Chicago
Okay, so this might have been done with a little fun in it, but can Johnson blame the Bears fans? It has been a long time since the team has seen success in a game, and the way they dominated the Bills has not happened in a long time. In fact, it's been 31 years since they last did it in the preseason when they beat the Arizona Cardinals 16-0.
The Bears looked so dominant in the game, led by the stellar performance of quarterback Caleb Williams, who had 107 yards and one touchdown in two drives. They had two running backs combine for over 150 yards and three touchdowns in the win as well. Of course, we have to give some love to the defense, which held the Bills under 200 yards and zero points.
There is an aura surrounding Chicago right now with a ton of excitement for the Bears, who are looking more and more like a team that could contend. Johnson is a big reason for that, with the shift in culture that was much needed. A tougher, grittier team has been seen over the last two preseason games.

The Bears have one last shot to prove they're ready on Friday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Johnson can expect some more boos in this game, but more from the Chiefs home crowd than his own fans.
