Most Chicago Bears fans are looking at the schedule and seeing the 3-10 Cleveland Browns might give him some relief, but this is not a team to look past.
There's the obvious Myles Garrett effect that he can have on a game, as he is three sacks away from breaking an NFL record. The Bears have their focus on someone else, though, that is starting to catch lightning in a bottle: Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Bears safety Kevin Byard was asked about Sanders and what his thoughts were on him. Sanders certainly got Byard's attention and knows Chicago has a challenge on its hands with him.
"Just cause he is a rookie does not mean we can take him lightly. He is very talented. I think he is really good at throwing the ball on time."
How the Bears need to control Sanders from having his Week 14 performance repeat again
Sanders has only made three starts on the season for Cleveland, but he is showing that the rookie fifth-round pick might end up being a good quarterback in the NFL. In Cleveland's 31-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 14, Sanders completed 54.8% of his passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns to one interception, adding a rushing score as well.
One thing Chicago needs to keep an eye on that really hurt them in the 28-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 14 is the big-play potential of Sanders and the Browns' offense. Packers quarterback Jordan Love's three touchdowns were all from 23 or more yards on the Bears' defense.
The good news for Chicago is that they have Byard, who leads the NFL in interceptions this season with six. Overall, the Bears are first in the NFL in turnovers forced with 27 through 14 weeks of the regular season.
It's going to be key for the Bears to start getting some life from this pass rush. Montez Sweat has been the only consistent pass rusher on this Chicago defense, and guys like Austin Booker need to step up and help out.

Sanders can do a lot of the same things Caleb Williams has with the Bears, but is a bit better from the pocket when he's got time to make the throws. Chicago needs to be ready for anything the young quarterback throws at them, but Byard will make sure this unit is prepared, as this game has become much more critical after the Packers' loss.
