Bears' biggest loser from the 2025 preseason is painfully obvious

It really went off the rails at the end there.

It's hard to pin point the moment it went completely wrong for one Chicago Bears player, but the decent was bad.

There are a few players this might describe, as in the Bears' 29-27 win over the Kansas City Chiefs; for instance, guys like cornerbacks Nahshon Wright and Tre Flowers struggled in the game. Was it enough for those guys to lose their spots on the 53-man roster? That question won't be answered until Tuesday.

Bears fans can argue one other player has taken a bigger fall from grace than any other on the roster. A man who was one considered in the running to start might now have one foot out the door.

Kiran Amegadjie is in danger of losing his job after a tough training camp

During the first week of training, the highly talked about position battle at left tackle was underway between Braxton Jones, rookie Ozzy Trapilo, and Amegadjie. It always felt kind of off that Amegadjie was in the running after just one start in six appearances during his rookie season last year.

Sure enough, it started to happen that Amegadjie was slowly removed from the competition at left tackle and was replaced by Theo Benedet by the end of camp. If it is any consolation to Amegadjie, Trapilo also was removed from the starting job after being moved to right tackle.

That's part of Amegadjie's problem, though, as he was also moved to right tackle. By the end of training camp, he was working out with the third team.

Nothing in the preseason really stood out for Amegadjie as he seemed to not have done enough to make a difference. In fact, it just hurt his chances more and more.

With just a few days until the Bears have to finalize their 53-man roster, Amegadjie's future is in question. It's a toss-up whether he makes it or might have to take a spot on the practice squad.

It's been a tough fall for a guy who once had hope of starting. Now, he might be on the outside looking in.
