It's been a long two months for the Chicago Bears' secondary, as they've been without their star cornerback, Jaylon Johnson, in the lineup. The team might not have to wait too much longer.
On social media, the Bears announced that Johnson's 21-day practice window has opened as he is eligible to practice just before their Week 11 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Johnson has been out since injuring his groin during the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Detroit Lions. He was placed on IR shortly afterwards.

Earlier in the week, Bears head coach Ben Johnson gave an encouraging update that he expected Jaylon Johnson and other injured cornerbacks, including Kyler Gordon, to be back on the field at some point this season. Ben Johnson had shared that he saw Jaylon Johnson working out in the weight room and looking better.
Jaylon Johnson looks to be back and Bears fans couldn't be more excited to see that
For Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson, 2025 has not been a great year. He missed all of training camp and the first week of the season against the Minnesota Vikings. He only played in one game against the Lions in Week 2 before being sidelined.
Johnson is a critical part of this Bears' defense, as he has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last two years for Chicago. He has been the big playmaker on the defense and has covered every team's number one receivers with ease.
This now means the Bears have three weeks to get Johnson activated onto the roster and play him. His return would most likely come in December, but could come sooner. Fans shouldn't expect him back either this week or next week, but their final Week 11 injury report might be interesting to see how much Johnson practices, if he does at all.

While Tyrique Stevenson has done a fine job at CB1, getting Johnson back would change the course of the whole season. The Bears are one step closer to seeing that reality become a reality.
