The Chicago Bears know as well as anyone that it is very hard, if not impossible, to build a sustainable winner with Matt Nagy as the team's head coach. That won't stop teams like the Tennessee Titans from trying to see if he can possibly turn around on team No. 2.
The Titans are in the market for a new head coach after parting ways with Brian Callahan following his 4-19 record. New GM Mike Borgonzi, who knows Nagy from their time together with the Kansas City Chiefs, might try to give his old friend a boost one more time.
When asked about candidates who could replace Callahan in Tennessee, Ian Rapoport specifically singled out Nagy and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith as two names at the front of the Titans' mind. Nagy handling Cam Ward seems like the direct opposite of a match made in heaven.
Bears fans can laugh at Matt Nagy getting considered for Titans HC job
While Nagy doesn't call plays, there seems to be a correlation between his return to the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes taking a slight downturn in his overall effectiveness and Nagy coming back to serve as offensive coordinator. His offensive style seems to be a bit behind the times.
Nagy truthers will lean on the "he had a winning record with Mitch Trubisky as his quarterback" stick, and that is a worthy argument that requires a defense. However, when looking at how loaded his rosters were outside of Trubisky on the defensive side (a luxury he wouldn't have in Tennessee), it becomes clear as to why Chicago was winning these games.
If Nagy is going to get back into coaching, he needs to go to a team with an established quarterback and a defense he can be proud of. Giving him a reclamation project like the Titans will show just how in over his skis Nagy is as a leader of men and an organizer.

The Titans need some schematic genius who can turn Ward into a star while the rest of the roster starts to work themselves back into a state of respectability. Nagy is not the guy for that job, as Bears fans can attest to after watching the horrendous way in which his time with Chicago ended.
