Sometimes it's not in someone's control to make the final roster, as players can perform well, but others are just better. That appears to be the case for one player on the Chicago Bears' roster in training camp.
Cornerback Tre Flowers just joined the team last month as a fill-in for Jaylon Johnson while he recovers from his injury. Flowers already had some pleasant moments in training camp, with one practice where he had two pass deflections.

One good performance at training camp isn't enough to make the roster, as Flowers might see himself as a short-term player before the Bears cut him loose.
Flowers is a prime candidate to be cut from Bears at training camp
The Bears brought in a cornerback with plenty of NFL experience after being a fifth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks. Flowers has enjoyed a long career, having played for five teams since 2018. In 95 games, Flowers has racked up 287 tackles, 22 pass deflections, and four interceptions.
It was already a long shot for Flowers to make the Bears' roster with cornerbacks like Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson, Terell Smith, and Zah Frazier. The biggest problem for Flowers is the insane emergence of Nahshon Wright.
This past week, Wright has been working with the first team as CB2 in place of Johnson and has performed well. Day after day, he has received praise for breaking up passes and having tight coverages on wide receivers.
Wright was once seen as a lock to be cut at the beginning of training camp, and now might be playing his way onto the roster. That's bad news for Flowers, who just hasn't had as many memorable moments at camp.

Depending on when Johnson comes back, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if Flowers exits from the roster even before training camp ends. It's nothing against his skill set, but the newly realized depth of the cornerback position is making it impossible for Flowers to make it.
