Good timing there.

During the Chicago Bears' 25-24 win over the Washington Commanders, the Windy City took another unnecessary hit on defense when linebacker Noah Sewell was knocked out of the game.

Sewell collided with one of his teammates, which resulted in him leaving the game with a concussion. On the first Bears injury report of Week 7, he did not practice as he continues to go through concussion protocol.

With T.J. Edwards missing four games this season, Sewell stepped up in his place and performed well. He's racked up 32 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble in five games.

The depth at linebacker might get a bit shaky with Sewell hurt, but one linebacker appears to be on his way back on the field at the perfect time.

Amen Ogbongbemiga can return to practice for the first time this season

The Bears announced that they opened the 21-day window for practice for linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga. This would be the first step in Ogbongbemiga's return, as he has missed the entire season so far.

In August, he suffered a hamstring injury, but did return in the preseason before being placed on IR. The reason for his being placed on IR was not initially revealed, with some thinking it was the hamstring injury he had.

Ogbongbemiga has been a key member of the roster since last year, as he played 86% of the snaps on special teams, racking up 13 tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and one sack in 17 games. He previously played three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

This would be big for the Bears' defense as they get a chance to fill depth at a position that needs it behind Tremaine Edmunds and Edwards. The hope is Sewell will be able to bounce back quickly, but since he's in concussion protocol, don't expect the Bears to rush him.

Chicago will most likely not rush Ogbongbemiga either, as they opened the practice window for Austin Booker and Travis Homer last week, and they did not play in the Commanders game. This might be a day-by-day situation to see when Ogbongbemiga will get back on the field.
