There have been a lot of eyes pointed towards Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles as some of his decisions from the offseason are coming to bite them early in the season. One Bears legend has had enough of it.

Former Bears linebacker Lance Briggs spoke on CHGO and had some tough words towards Poles. Briggs was not happy about what the Bears did during the NFL Draft with selecting tight end Colston Loveland over an offensive or defensive lineman.

"Why roll the doggone dice on premimum offensive and defensive linemen? I don't understand that. You know what I mean, like we took a tight end in the top 10. Why can't we take the top offensive or defensive linemen. The guy that's gonna protect our quarterback or get to the quarterback. I don't understand it."

Is it too early to go after Poles for his selections in the draft?

A lot of that criticism for the Bears' rookie draft class has already been out there with the lackluster performances. Loveland and Luther Burden III each have just two catches in two games, but Loveland has 12 yards to Burden's two yards. The other two picks within the first two rounds, Ozzy Trapilo and Shemar Turner, have seen Trapilo with just five snaps in Week 1, and Turner has not been active at all.

This Bears draft class has not looked good at all, with most of the reason being that they aren't getting the reps. Guys like Loveland and Burden are barely getting any looks.

Loveland's pick has also been criticized, as if the Bears were going to get a tight end, it could have been Tyler Warren. In just two games, Warren has caught 11 passes for 155 yards.

The NFL has seen teams like the Philadelphia Eagles focus on offensive and defensive linemen in the NFL Draft recently, and that has turned into two Super Bowls since 2017. Chicago could have substituted Loveland for someone like Dolphins defensive tackle Kenneth Grant or Cowboys offensive guard Tyler Booker, who are playing well to start the season.

There are 15 more games for the rookies on the Bears to prove that Poles made the right move, but fans in Chicago would agree with Briggs' assessment that the selections in the draft weren't great so far.
