The Chicago Bears suffered a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions and are now 0-2. After two weeks, how does the Bears' rookie draft class look?
Colston Loveland, TE
Loveland had one target and zero catches despite playing 36 snaps. He is averaging 0.29 yards per route run this season. To put that into perspective, Tyler Warren is at 2.77 yards per route run, and this is with Daniel Jones at quarterback. Something is off here. Even with Cole Kmet, they need to be utilizing him more when he is on the field.
Grade: D
Luther Burden III, WR
Burdan played just 12 snaps and only ran six routes. He has two catches for two yards so far this season. The expectations were a bit lower for him, but Olamide Zaccheaus is not performing right now, so the team will need more from him soon. His grade is not as bad because of expectations being tempered before the year.
Grade: C-
Ozzy Trapilo, OT
They can justify it by saying that Theo Benedet is the sixth-lineman on offense at times, but a second round being inactive when healthy during his rookie season has to be viewed as a disappointment. He does not have any role on the team?
Grade: D-
Shemar Turner, DL
Shemar Turner cannot beat out Chris Williams, who is a journeyman depth lineman. He is on a defense that gave up 52 points. How bad can Turner be at this point? They are going to need to play him soon because the unit needs some help.
Grade: F
Ruben Hyppolite II, LB
Hyppolite played 24 special teams, but committed two penalties. He also added eight snaps on defense.
Grade: C
Luke Newman, OL
Newman was active; he played three snaps late in the game last week, and he is a member of the special teams unit. This is a win for his draft status.
Grade: B+

Kyle Monangai, RB
Monangai went from nine snaps to 28. He went from zero carries to seven. He is starting to earn a little bit more, which the team needs.
