Minicamp might be over for the Chicago Bears, but general manager Ryan Poles is staying busy with moves being made.

The Bears announced on social media that the reported signings of UFL players, linebacker Tony Fields II and wide receiver Kaden Davis, are official. That means two players were released to make room for them on the roster, with linebacker Dominique Hampton and kicker Gabriel Plascencia having been waived.

Hampton spent most of the second half of the season on the practice squad after the Bears had multiple injuries at linebacker. Plascencia was an undrafted rookie out of San Diego State and has been on the roster since late April.

Fields comes in at the right time to help build some depth at the linebacker position. D'Marco Jackson got hurt at OTAs so it opened the door for Fields to get a shot.

Davis played under Bears head coach Ben Johnson when the two were together with the Detroit Lions back in 2024. Chicago will use Davis more on special teams as a returner, but he will get some looks at wide receiver for the Bears.

Hampton and Plascencia being waived shouldn't affect the Bears' roster too badly, as the two were not expected to make the roster anyway. Chicago is pretty much set now at linebacker, and Cairo Santos should have the kicker position down pat, so there's no reason to have another kicker on the roster.

There could be more moves coming up for the Bears as they are over a month away from training camp, but Davis and Fields should be able to help out and stick around for a good part of training camp.
