Chicago Bears fans are so badly wanting to see Aaron Rodgers on the field for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12 to exact their revenge on them, but his status is up in the air.
While speaking with the media, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Rodgers will not need surgery on his injured wrist. Tomlin doesn't expect to know Rodgers' status for the Bears game until Friday.
"Really, it's just about bracing it and securing it for his comfort and safety, and then it's about how functional he is," Tomlin told reporters.
Rodgers injured his wrist in the win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. He's not expected to practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. Should Rodgers not be ready to go, Mason Rudolph would be the next man in line at quarterback.
Bears fans will have to continue to wait for see if they will face Rodgers
Rodgers has had a much better season than last year with the New York Jets, as the Steelers are off to a 6-4 start. He has thrown for nearly 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns to seven interceptions.
Everyone in Chicago knows Rodgers well from his over a decade time with the Green Bay Packers as they faced off twice a year. Rodgers has "owned" the Bears in the series, going 25-5 against them.
Chicago is desperate for a win, as the Bears are currently 7-3 and in first place in the NFC North, while sitting third in the NFC playoff picture. The Bears need a signature win, as they have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season, with the Week 11 Minnesota Vikings game the closest to one.

It would be sweeter for the Bears to beat the Steelers if Rodgers is on the field, but no matter what, Chicago is in must-win mode against Pittsburgh.
