Despite the amount of injuries that have piled up for the Chicago Bears, the secondary continues to impress throughout training camp.

During Friday's joint practice with the Buffalo Bills, the Bears' secondary was reportedly shutting down the Bills' receivers throughout the day. CHSN's Alex Shapiro shared how Chicago's safeties shined specifically against Bills quarterback Josh Allen in one of the drills.

"Bears safeties giving Josh Allen a hard time for a stretch in 7-on-7s

Jaquan Brisker had 2 PBUs when covering Dawson Knox.

Then Kevin Byard got an INT while covering Dalton Kincaid"

How good is the Bears' secondary is going to be in 2025?

The Bears' secondary has taken a beaten with the injury bug all training camp. Jaylon Johnson and Zah Frazier has missed all of camp and Kyler Gordon has been out for about two weeks with injury. Johnson and Gordon are still lined up to play by Week 1 if there are no setbacks.

Byard and Brisker have had strong training camps which was much needed since Brisker is in a contract year and coming off his concussion injury last year. Their roles have grown throughout camp as they are the top defensive backs and have made the most of it.

Other guys like Nahshon Wright and Josh Blackwell have stepped up in the secondary and have taken advantage of the extra playing time. Wright was once thought of as on the outside of the 53-man roster, and now could make the roster. Blackwell has done more special teams for the Bears, but could be in line for a bigger role on defense.

Terrel Smith was another cornerback who has played well in training camp and working to get into the rotation. He may also see his role increase in the Bears' secondary.
