He's earned that.

Life has been pretty good for Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Jahdae Walker.

It wasn't all great, though, after going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and getting signed to the Bears with an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster. Walker had stiff competition at wide receiver, and not many thought he would make it.

Instead, he beat all the odds and dominated throughout training camp and the preseason. He finished with eight receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns in three games. Walker's two touchdowns both came in the fourth quarter, with his last one being the most important as it was a game-winner against the Kansas City Chiefs with two seconds left in the contest.

Those two incredible touchdown catches were enough to help Walker make the 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie. An astonishing feat for the young man, but one more accolade might be worth adding to his resume.

Pro Football Focus praises Walker as one of the best rookies in the preseason

In a recent PFF article, writer Bradley Locker put together his preseason All-Rookie team with Walker being one of two receivers on it. Walker showed more than just those two touchdown catches why he should be in the NFL.

"Much of the focus surrounding the Bears this offseason has gravitated toward a new-look offense, one which features second-round receiver Luther Burden III. But, the Bears may have another dynamic rookie weapon on their hands.

Walker, an undrafted free agent, impressed with an 87.9 overall PFF grade and an 87.0 PFF receiving grade in the preseason. The former Texas A&M Aggie caught eight of his 11 targets for 98 yards and two touchdowns, posting a strong 2.45 yards per route run. Although Walker dropped one of his targets, he did haul in two of four contested catches, which bodes well given his 6-foot-4 frame."

Walker will most likely be at the bottom of the depth chart at receiver for the time being, either backing up Rome Odunze or DJ Moore. The Bears will utilize Walker more on special teams, likely including kickoff coverage.

Chicago knows what kind of value Walker brings to the table, as he has proven to be a tough receiver on one-on-one coverage. He can make those contested catches when he needs to, while being able to blow past a cornerback in coverage.

Walker may not quite be ready to be a starter in the NFL right now, but his potential is something Bears fans can get excited about.
