After a thrilling 29-27 win over the Kansas City Chiefs to close out the preseason, the Chicago Bears now must do the tough part and make final roster cuts.

Every NFL team needs to have their rosters down to 53 men by Tuesday. These are never easy days for anyone as coaches lose training camp darlings to players' dream of playing in the NFL will be dashed.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson, his coaching staff, and general manager Ryan Poles now have the impossible task of figuring out who will make that 53-man roster.

Chicago Bears 53-man roster prediction after final game of 2025 preseason

Quarterback (3): Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum

Bagent owned the preseason from the beginning and has looked fantastic, more than earning his contract extension. Keenum will be locked in as the third string. The Bears' quarterback room looks really good going into the season, so if Williams gets hurt, they won't miss too much of a beat.

Running Back (3): D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, Kyle Monangai

There's a lot of back and forth about the running back room with some believing that four could make the roster with Travis Homer being the last one. The Bears need depth at other spots on the roster so sticking with the three for now will work.

Wide Receiver (6): DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Olamide Zaccheaus, Luther Burden III, Devin Duvernay, Jahdae Walker

Anytime a player catches the game-winning touchdown, it should almost ensure a spot on the roster. Walker has been on the bubble all training camp, but played exceptionally well in the preseason that the Bears have to get him on the roster.

Tight End (3): Cole Kmet, Colston Loveland, Stephen Carlson

The biggest question with the tight end position is whether Durham Smythe or Carlson should make the roster. If we went by preseason, Carlson has been the best tight end beside Loveland and Kmet. He should have the edge over Smythe, but both had big 20+ yard completions against Kansas City.

Offensive Line (10): Ozzy Trapilo, Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman, Jonah Jackson, Darnell Wright, Braxton Jones, Kiran Amegadjie, Ryan Bates, Luke Newman, Theo Benedet

Kiran Amegadjie is the one offensive lineman who has the biggest question as to whether he should make the roster or not. He went from rotating with the first-team at left tackle to now on the bubble. Amegadjie will determine whether Chicago carries nine or 10 linemen.

Defensive Line (10): Montez Sweat, Grady Jarrett, Andrew Billings, Dayo Odeyingbo, Gervon Dexter, Austin Booker, Shemar Turner, Zacch Pickens, Daniel Hardy, Dominique Robinson

There's a lot of mixed emotions with who can make the 53-man roster from the defensive line. Robinson has had a nice training camp and should be able to sneak onto the 53-man roster. Pickens and Hardy could be reversed out for Tanoh Kpassagnon and Chris Williams, though.

Linebacker (5): T.J. Edwards, Tremaine Edmunds, Ruben Hyppolite II, Amen Ogbongbemiga, Noah Sewell

Nothing should change with the linebackers as Hyppolite and Sewell have been battling it out for the third linebacker spot. Both have played well enough to earn it, so that will make it a tougher decision for the coaching staff.

Cornerback (6): Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson, Nahshon Wright, Josh Blackwell, Zah Frazier

If it wasn't for Terell Smith's season-ending injury, there would be a serious conversation about Wright making the final roster. He struggled mightily against the Chiefs' starters on offense. Frazier appears to be back in the building with Johnson getting healthier and Gordon back at practice this week, so the secondary should be at full strength for the season-opener.

Safety (4): Kevin Byard III, Jaquan Brisker, Elijah Hicks, Jonathan Owens

There really was never going to be any major changes at safety with all four secure with their roster spots. Credit to Byard and Brisker who holding it down in the secondary while the Bears dealt with injury after injury.

Special Teams (3): Cairo Santos, Torey Taylor, Scott Daily

Santos had a field goal missed in the Chiefs game, but both of Taylor's punts were pinned inside the 20-yard line. The whole operation on special teams appears to be good to go for the regular season.
