Oh boy.

The Chicago Bears might have a problem again at cornerback with Kyler Gordon. Gordon was hurt in warmups before the 28-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers and ended up not playing in the game. Bears head coach Ben Johnson expressed frustration in not knowing how to handle Gordon's groin injury the day after.

Reporters once again asked Johnson for an update on Gordon and when they expect him back. The head coach gave an answer that really shows no optimism at all.

"To be determined. I haven't heard over the last couple of days, just the extent of it. You know, coming out of that one, it didn't look very good."

Johnson is hinting that Gordon might be missing time again

This groin injury Gordon has been dealing with has been going on; he injured it during training camp. It caused him to miss the first four games of the season before playing in the Washington Commanders and New Orleans Saints games.

It would be the Saints game where he got hurt again and was placed on IR this time, until he was activated for the Philadelphia Eagles game in Week 13. Now that he is only playing in that Philly game since his return, he might be at risk of missing more time. Potentially the rest of the season.

In three games this season, Gordon has racked up just seven tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, one sack, and one fumble recovery.

Replacing Gordon would be C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who has done a nice job of filling in after playing safety for his whole career. One thing that was exposed about Gardner-Johnson that Gordon would have been able to handle was facing off against speed receivers, as the Packers tormented Gardner-Johnson in that department in Week 14.

The Bears fan base will be entering the unknown with Gordon, as they will have to wait and see what the injury report says throughout the week.
