During the 2025 season, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams consistently showed why he’s a special quarterback, helping the team pull off several miraculous comebacks. Now, even though no games are being played, the talented quarterback is still helping the Bears win. This time, he’s helping the franchise win the offseason.
Chicago is currently benefiting from having a good quarterback who is respected throughout the league. That benefit is other good players wanting to come play with Williams in Chicago. New Bears safety Coby Bryant recently admitted that it was a factor for him in his free agency decision.
Appearing on the Up & Adams show, Kay Adams asked Bryant how Williams played into his decision to come to Chicago, and the veteran safety explained that seeing the special talent that Williams is, and the direction he has the Bears heading, it made coming to Chicago an easy choice.

Bears safety Coby Bryant admits Caleb Williams was a factor in his free agency decision
Bryant also praised the leadership of Chicago’s young quarterback, explaining that Williams’ leadership has already been showcased in their communication since joining the team. The veteran defensive back said Williams was the first person to reach out and welcome him to the Bears, and they immediately started to get to know each other, talking about what Chicago is building.
This is one of the not-so-hidden perks of having an elite quarterback, which Caleb Williams is well on his way to being. Good players want to play with other good players, and win, so it makes free agency much easier for a team when they have a star at what’s considered the most important position in sports. Additionally, it also helps that Chicago has already become a contender in Williams’ second season.

Even more exciting is the fact that Caleb Williams and the Bears are just getting started. The 2025 season was only the quarterback’s second year in the NFL, and just the team’s first year with Ben Johnson as head coach. Chicago should keep moving things in the right direction, making the Bears an even more attractive destination for free agents.
