He sure has!

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has proven over the last year that he is not a quarterback anyone should be messing with.

Williams set a franchise record and put himself on the map week after week with incredible throws and comebacks being made. That's what made NFL reporter Stacey Dales go on 104.3 The Score to make quite the claim about the Bears' star quarterback.

"Not ranking them per se, but the most feared quarterback right now, I would say, in the division by the rest of the division is Caleb Williams," Dales said. "He's definitely the most feared quarterback in the division."

"Well, opposing teams call him Houdini. Like, that's what I got, Houdini, from so many defensive players facing him the week I covered him."

Caleb Williams has a different skill set from the rest of the NFC North

The reality is that Williams is just built differently from the rest of the quarterbacks in the NFC North. Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love and Minnesota Vikings projected starter Kyler Murray certainly have the athletic abilities, but they don't have what Williams has.

Williams is not typically a scrambling quarterback, as he won't run often unless he truly has an opening or if none of his receivers can get open. What he can do is use his legs to give receivers time to get open and still be able to throw an accurate strike because his arm talent is superior to Love's and Murray's.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is one of the best pocket passers in the NFL and might arguably be better than Williams at it. Goff can't make the throws that Williams can weekly.

There are honestly very few quarterbacks who can make the throws Williams can while also being able to stay clutch and keep his team in games. Many have now started pairing Williams with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes because they can make the same kind of throws and prove they both can win in the toughest pressure moments.

It also helps that Williams actually protects the football just as well as the other NFC North quarterbacks without sacrificing his skill set. Sure, the accuracy has to improve with Williams, but he makes up for it with the kind of passes he can make that the other QBs in the NFC North wish they can make.

Williams is a differently built quarterback from the rest of the NFC North that keeps him in a different category. He is about to truly separate himself from all three of them in the 2026 season.
