On most Caleb Williams passes, Chicago Bears fans might be screaming at their television for him to throw the ball and hurry up, but end up watching him make a spectacular play and be happy about it.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson was in the fans' same seats when he watched Williams connect with tight end Cole Kmet in the end zone in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams to tie the game and force overtime. Williams appeared on Maxx Crosby's podcast, where he shared Johnson's hilarious initial reaction during the play.
"It's a funny view because Ben has a clip from watching behind and Ben is watching me. He goes (tilts head back). He like tilts his head back and I already know where his mind is at like 'What the f**k is he doing? Why the f**k? Like don't run away. It's fourth down like obviously don't run away from where we need to go.'"
Caleb Williams gave Ben Johnson a scare with TD pass vs. Rams
Those types of plays are pretty common for Williams, as there were consecutive weeks where he was making the throw of the year in the NFL. From the touchdown pass to DJ Moore in the Cleveland Browns game to the Jahdae Walker touchdown catch in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers to the Rome Odunze fourth down completion against the Packers in the Wild Card, Williams has done it all.
While Bears fans love seeing those throws to truly see the untapped potential Williams has, sometimes they wouldn't mind him not making them so stressful. Chicago won seven games in the regular season and postseason with comebacks and game-winning drives, the most in NFL history.

Hopefully, the 2026 season will feature more blowouts than close games, but Bears fans count themselves lucky to have Williams there to handle those nailbiters.
