The opening week of training camp for the Chicago Bears wasn't anything Earth-shattering for the fan base in terms of news, but a lot of good came out of it.
Chicago seems to be off to a good start with the offense rolling and the defense showing improvement. There's plenty to get excited about in 2026, but are there still concerns within the team?
Maybe not 100%, but there are questions entering Week 2 that the Bears need to get answered for the fans. What are the biggest questions the Bears face with one week to go before preseason games kick off?
Burning questions entering Chicago Bears training camp in Week 2
When will Kyler Gordon return to practice with the Bears?
If Bears fans think this question will be on the list every week of training camp, they would be 100% correct. Head coach Ben Johnson made his feelings abundantly clear about how frustrated he is regarding Gordon's soft-tissue injury that's keeping him out of training camp. If Gordon wants to get on the coaching staff's good side, let's have more of an update on what's going on and the timeline for his return.
Where's Kyle Monangai?
Monangai has missed the last few practices for an undisclosed reason. It's reasonable to say that it's really no one's business what's going on with Monangai, but it's more important to make sure he's okay first. Bears fans would love to have a key piece of their offense back on the field with them.
Who is truly winning some of these tough position battles?
There doesn't seem to be much clarity on who is winning jobs since everyone appears to be playing well so far. Austin Booker seems to have the edge over Dayo Odeyingbo at defensive end, Salmon Ahmed seems to have jumped Roschon Johnson for the RB3 job, and more. Which other position battles have a clear winner to them so far in camp?

Can Caleb Williams continue the positive momentum he has?
Training camp is off to a fast start for Williams and the offense. He has been ripping the football, and outside of a couple of mistakes, he has total control of this offense. A video surfaced of him being frustrated with the offense not getting something right, showing that he knows what is expected of the offense and that his leadership traits continue to grow. The hope is they can continue the good times with their practices.
