Chicago Bears fans may be left heartbroken at the NFL Trade Deadline

The NFL Trade Deadline season started off with a bang on Tuesday. Disgruntled wide receiver Davante Adams was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets. Adams eventually ending up with the New York Jets has been the worst-kept secret in the NFL as he reunites with Aaron Rodgers.

Then, the Buffalo Bills, fresh off their win over Rodgers and the Jets on Monday Night, took note of their trade and acquired Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. The Bills got a veteran receiver who can help ease the pressure off rookie Keon Coleman while giving quarterback Josh Allen another quality weapon. The busy day ended with the Minnesota Vikings acquiring running back Cam Akers from the Houston Texans.

The question all Bears fans are wondering right now is whether the Bears will do anything during the bye week or at the deadline this year. It is easy to be spoiled by the Chase Claypool and Montez Sweat deals in the last two seasons.

The Bears fans might be in for disappointment regarding the Bears approach to this year's NFL trade deadline.

The biggest weakness of the Bears right now is the offensive line. But the problem is even if you acquire an offensive lineman, it will take time to get integrated into the Bears scheme. It is not like someone can be plugged in and everything gets fixed all of a sudden. Perhaps they will wait until next off-season to fix the offensive line as they might have a new offensive line coach next season.

Also, don't get too excited about someone on social media suggesting the Bears trade for Maxx Crosby or Myles Garrett. It is simply unrealistic. My best guess is running back Khalil Herbert, who has become an afterthought in the Bears' backfield, will be traded for a 2025 6th or 7th-round pick, guard Nate Davis will be released, and a defensive tackle will be added to improve their run defense while adding more depth since Zaach Pickens is hurt all the time.

While that might not excite many fans, they should also be thankful how much this team has come since Ryan Poles took over as he tore down an aging roster and rebuilt this team, with very little weaknesses.
