With not a lot of cap space to work with this offseason at the moment, the Chicago Bears will be leaning heavily on the 2026 NFL Draft to build out their roster.

The Bears have some big needs on the roster they can use the draft to fill out, including edge rusher, wide receiver, and safety. Essentially Sports NFL reporter Tony Pauline shared that despite not having worked out at Oregon's Pro Day, running back Noah Whittington might be getting some interest from a certain team in the Windy City.

"(Noah) Whittington is getting a lot of interest from the Washington Commanders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Bears."

Whittington would bring some speed to the backfield in Chicago, as he has run a 4.41 40-yard dash time. He is currently dealing with a turf toe injury that he had surgery on recently.

Before his four years at Oregon, Whittington spent his first two years at Western Kentucky. In 13 games last year, he ran for 829 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 6.4 yards per carry.

The Bears obviously have a very talented backfield with D'Andre Swift and 2025 seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai, as Swift ran for over 1,000 yards and Monangai nearly got 800 yards in 2025. Swift has the speed, and Monangai has the power, making them a perfect combo.

Swift has been the subject of a lot of cut and trade talks for the Bears throughout the offseason, but nothing has happened, and there have been no signs of change. The expectation is that Monangai will eventually be the starter, and Swift will be replaced in 2026 or 2027 by another back.

Whittington has some injury concerns throughout his college career, but he is quick and can make plays with the ball in his hands. He may not be ready to start right away, but he would make sense as the eventual replacement for Swift.

The Bears will eventually be aggressive at running back, but it's a matter of whether they will get it done this year or wait until next offseason to move on from Swift.
