The Chicago Bears had a solid 2026 NFL Draft weekend, but there were some questions about how they went about their picks.

One criticism is that the Bears did not select an edge rusher and waited until the sixth round to select a defensive tackle. CBS Sports' Mike Renner had something else in mind that he did not like about the Bears' draft: his choice for the worst pick was their second-round center, Logan Jones, who got a D+ grade.

"I had three centers on my board considerably higher than Jones who were all good scheme fits for Ben Johnson's offense. Jones's ability to run outside zone is why he comes off the board here, but you're going to consistently give up a lot in pass protection with him in the middle."

Logan Jones was not a popular pick among some experts

Jones is a super-talented center who had a great college career, as he won the Rimington Trophy award for being the nation's best center last year. He's been selected to multiple All-Big Ten teams and proved to be one of the most dominant centers in the country.

Yes, many believe the Bears got Jones a round too early, but this is not the worst pick they made. Jones gives the Bears the future at center with one selection and had to make sure no one else stole that pick from them.

The one pick everyone has more questions about is LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas, who was selected in the third round. Everyone had Thomas projected as a Day 3 pick, so many were surprised to hear his name called on Day 2.
