The Chicago Bears’ offensive line was easily the most consistent unit on the team this season.

Adding veteran interior linemen in Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman, and Jonah Jackson helped stabilize the offense. Offensive tackles Theo Benedet and Ozzy Trapilo did a decent job protecting Caleb Williams’ blindside, and Darnell Wright earned himself a Second-Team All-Pro honor at right tackle.

A big reason the Bears finished as the No. 3 rushing team in the NFL and Williams broke the organization’s single-season passing record with his 3,942 yards was because of continuity on the offensive line.

Bears' big three additions on the line changed the 2025 season

Thuney, Dalman, and Jackson started every game in the regular season. Those new additions grew throughout the season, which benefited the entire offense. The only time the lineup changed was in the 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Thuney moved out to left tackle for an injured Trapilo, and Jordan McFadden stepped in at right guard.

One of the players who benefited the most from the stability of the O-line was Wright. In his previous two seasons in the NFL, the right guard was in constant flux because of various reasons.

When Wright looked inside, Jackson was there, and the Bears’ right tackle shared how much that helped him during the 20205 NFL season.

“That was good,” Wright said. “That was good for me. In previous years, I’ve had some guys in or out of there, whether it was injury or whatever. Just having that consistency beside me, something to build on each week, in practice, getting reps, that was big for me. I think he did a great job.”

Jackson is under contract for two more seasons, which means he and Wright can continue to develop their chemistry as they both grow in Ben Johnson’s offense.

“That’s big,” Wright said. “We can just build on some of the things we set up this year, see how it takes us.”
