Everyone in the 2026 NFL Draft passed on new Chicago Bears defensive back KC Eziomume, and now he's ready to prove that they all made a mistake.

Eziomume signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent, as he will be one of the 90 players battling for a roster spot in training camp. The rookie out of Tulane talked about what he can bring to the table and what his focus is as a Bear.

"Even though I got signed, I'm still coming in as an undrafted free agent," Eziomume said to Bears Wire's Mike Pendleton. "I still got a lot to prove. I still got a name to prove. I feel like even if I was to come in as a first-rounder, I feel like I still have a lot to prove because, yeah, okay, we got to the league. Now what? You don't just get to the league and stay there. You got to keep working. So that's just the mentality I have. Next day, just keep working, keep consistent. I'm always grinding to be better, be better than the next day. They're getting a hard worker. They're getting somebody that's consistent. They're getting somebody that's going to put their all, and they're getting somebody that's going to strap the number one receiver, wherever it is. Someone who they can look up to."

KC Eziomume is ready to battle for a job on the Bears' roster

While Eziomume didn't have a ton of experience on the field for the Green Wave last year, he has a chance to prove everyone wrong. He obviously made enough of an impression on the Bears' staff to set himself up with the opportunity to make the roster.

Things got easier for him to be one of the five or six cornerbacks to make the roster after the Bears waived 2025 draft pick Zah Frazier. That should leave a door open for him to get on the roster.

The biggest way Eziomume can make a strong impression is on special teams. He can learn a lot from fellow Bears cornerback Josh Blackwell, who is building a whole career on his work on being a special teams ace.

It'll be a long shot for him to make it, but Eziomume has just as good a chance as any player on the Bears to get the job done.
