Knowing how last season went for the Chicago Bears against the Washington Commanders, everyone knew that this had the potential to being a game that goes right to the last play.

Entering the game, the Bears were going to be without their starting kicker, Cairo Santos, who was out with a thigh injury. Jake Moody was called up from the practice squad hours before kickoff, as he was called upon to kick.

Chicago's offense stalled out quite a bit during the game as Moody made his first three field goals of the game. That would change on the fourth field goal attempt.

Moody might have had PTSD from what happened when he played for the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 when he had a field goal blocked as it happened again. To open the fourth quarter, Moody's kick was blocked, and it looked like it wasn't going to work out for the Bears.

That's until the moment finally came for him.

Moody nails the field goal when he needed to for Chicago

After a stellar nine-play drive, the Bears put the game in Moody's leg with a 38-yard field goal. He would end up nailing it as time expired, giving the Bears the 25-24 win over the Commanders.

Moody spoke with ESPN after the game as he shared his thoughts on missing the previous field goal before coming up clutch at the end.

"It feels amazing. To get all that support after the game ... for everybody to embrace me and take me in as one of their own, it's an amazing feeling... I like to say, you're only as good as your next kick. You can't dwell on the past. You've got to move on and focus on the next kick."

It will be a moment that Moody won't forget, and one Bears fans will forever be grateful for as the team improved to 3-2 on the season. Moody finally got his redemption that he's been waiting for all year.
