The Chicago Bears adding to Ben Johnson's offense has been a popular theme of recent 2025 NFL Mock Drafts.
When Brad Biggs mentions anything related to the Bears, it should be taken as a highly informed suggestion on the team's thought process. That is why I'm still not a huge fan that Biggs had the Bears taking Texas tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. in his latest mock draft. It's not a given that Banks will stick at tackle at the NFL level, and that should be reason enough for the Bears to stay away from him at No. 10.
Unless the Bears are in a position to take Will Campbell or Armand Membou at No. 10, the team shouldn't feel compelled to address their need for a left tackle in the first round. That was the strategy Patrick Finley had in his latest mock draft for the Chicago Sun-Times. Finley has the Bears staying at No. 10 and selecting Penn State tight end Tyler Warren.
Campbell was taken at No. 4 by the New England Patriots, and Membou was taken at No. 7 by the New York Jets. Other notable selections were Ashton Jeanty going to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6, and Mason Graham being taken one spot ahead of the Bears at No. 9. Along those lines, Finley has the Jacksonville Jaguars trading with the Saints to get ahead of the Bears and take Graham. That certainly could be a scenario that plays out, however, if Graham is falling, the Bears may consider moving up as well.
Tyler Warren shouldn't scare Cole Kmet fans
But back to the selection at hand, many are connecting Warren's potential arrival to the Bears preparing for life without Cole Kmet. That isn't the case. As Finley points out, Kmet is firmly in place as the Bears' in-line tight end. Warren, on the other hand, could be used in a number of different spots on the field--lining up in the backfield, the slot, or next to either tackle. Ben Johnson's offense makes use of multiple tight ends, and a tandem between Warren and Kmet would give the Bears an excellent combination at the position.
