Chicago Bears fans try to block out the years where general manager Ryan Pace was running the show, but now he's going to be closer than fans think.
ESPN Minnesota Vikings reporter Kevin Seifert reported the Vikings are hiring Pace in a football advisor role within the organization. Pace spent the last four years working in the Atlanta Falcons front office, most recently as the vice president of football operations and player personnel in 2024 and 2025 before the two sides parted ways this offseason.
From 2015 through 2021, Pace was the general manager of the Bears, and the team made the postseason only twice during that span with John Fox and Matt Nagy as his head coaches. In 2018, Pace was named Sporting News' Executive of the Year after the team went 12-4 and won the NFC North.

Bears fans can only hope that Pace will be well involved in the Vikings' day-to-day operations as they make critical decisions. Pace's work with the draft might have brought up nightmares for Bears fans back then, but it could be beneficial if Minnesota wants him involved in that.
The reality is that Pace is slowly seeing his career take some steps back, and that's because of the work he did with the Bears. His biggest contribution was trading for Khalil Mack, which instantly helped the defense, but still didn't always lead to success.
Pace's choice to bring in John Fox was a complete disaster from the beginning, as he didn't make it three full years in the job. At least with Nagy, the team made the playoffs twice despite never winning a game.

Minnesota might be making a big mistake with Pace joining them, but the Bears fans don't mind them doing it as it can only help them out.
