The theme of the Chicago Bears offseason has been to create a soft landing spot for quarterback Caleb Williams and that could apply to the release of the 2024 NFL Schedule.
Based on strength of schedule, the Bears have the third easiest schedule in the NFL this season. It's an ideal situation for Williams to be in during his rookie season where the Bears do not play a divisional opponent until November.
What was a little bit of a surprise is the lack of primetime games that the Bears have during the 2024 season. As currently scheduled, the Bears will only have three games under the lights on national TV. However, they will also have a national showing on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.
Williams should be in a position to succeed during the 2024 season and that is one of the reasons why Jeff Howe of The Athletic (Subscription Required) has the Bears listed as one of the winners of the 2024 NFL Schedule.
"More reason for optimism: The Bears have the third-easiest strength of schedule (.467) based on their opponents’ records in 2023.The Athletic
Of note, Williams may get a chance to square off against fellow top-three picks Jayden Daniels (Commanders, Week 8) and Drake Maye (Patriots, Week 10) in a three-week stretch."
The matchups against Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye will be appointment television for Bears fans. Not to mention the chance, if not likelihood, of the Bears playing JJ McCarthy with the Minnesota Vikings if veteran Sam Darnold is unseated as the starting quarterback.
The Bears' 2024 schedule features the top quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Bears paid little attention to the non-Caleb Williams quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft class and their schedule presents the chance for them to be vindicated in their vetting process.
