Chicago Bears Draft Target: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR - Ohio State

The final name on my list that I'd be comfortable watching the Chicago Bears select at ninth overall is Jaxon Smith-Njigba. His 2021 stats are superb with 1,500+ receiving, nine touchdowns, and nearly 100 receptions. Smith-Njigba dealt with an injury in 2022 that limited his stats and he barely saw the field. He did play for a short period of time with Justin Fields in 2020.

Justin Fields has already made it clear he would love to be reunited with Smith-Njigba. This was prior to the D.J. Moore trade, but with Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool headed into the final year of their contracts, it's possible one or both are allowed to leave. The addition of Smith-Njigba would definitely help soften the blow if a deal can't be received with either of them. He stands 6'0" and 196 pounds. He has sure hands and doesn't need his body to haul in catches.

Again, I'd be happy with any of these eight players. I'd much rather see someone in the trenches, but I can justify and understand the possibility of a corner or the best wide receiver. Which of these eight players would you feel comfortable with at nine? Who would you eliminate? Would you take that elimination in the teens instead of nine? Let us know in the comments below.
