2. Who is D'Anthony Jones and can he make the Chicago Bears roster?

D'Anthony Jones has to be viewed as one of the risers of training camp. The Chicago Bears signed the UDFA from Houston this year. The rookie has made some noise and is listed as the third-team edge rusher. At the very least, that is ahead of Trevis Gipson, who was one of the leading rushers on the roster last year.

D'Anthony Jones has a profile that fits the Chicago Bears. He is closer to the mold of Rasheem Green and DeMarcus Walker than anything. Jones is a big power rusher. He lacks speed and finesse and is more of a run stuffer than he is a pass rusher.

However, the Bears have been looking to improve their run defense, and they want those big-body rushers because they rely on quick and lean interior linemen. So, Jones fits the mold and clearly has shown that he can take to the coaching. Now, he has about three weeks to make serious money. At the very least a strong summer should result in the practice squad, which is impressive for Jones and will extend his career. That was not guaranteed just a month ago.
