3. Should the Chicago Bears trade Yannick Ngakoue?

The Chicago Bears are officially out of contention. Sitting at 1-5, they would need to go 8-3 just to finish one game above .500. Going 3-8 seems far more likely than 8-3 at this point, and with Justin Fields out, the ceiling is gone for this team as well.

So, the Chicago Bears should probably start to think about the future. Does that mean trading Yannick Ngakoue? Nagkoue has not lived up to expectations. As of right now, he has fewer pressures, run stops, and a worse pass-rush win rate than DeMarcus Walker. That is not what they wanted with Ngakoue.

Ngakoue is a free agent, and there will be changes in Chicago, so it is hard to see him coming back. Why would the Chicago Bears keep him? They will spend so much he cannot get them any compensatory value, so anything he gets them is more than they will get back in the long term.

The move can open snaps for Dominique Robinson, who has shown nothing to deserve more work, but he is in his second season, so there could be more upside to be found. There is nothing to lose and at least something to gain with this trade.
