Well, the Chicago Bears have finally made a trade at the deadline, but it is one that fans might end up shrugging off for the time being.
The Bears executed a trade with the Cleveland Browns to acquire defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Cleveland picked up a sixth-round pick from the Bears.
During his five-year career, Tryon-Skoyinka racked up 36 quarterback hits and 15 sacks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Browns. While he doesn't have the production Bears fans want, there might be something Chicago is saying with this trade.
Watch out for the Austin Booker breakout season fans have hoped for
After being on IR and out for the first seven games of the regular season, Austin Booker returned in the Bears' thrilling 47-42 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Booker played well, making a key sack and forcing a fumble in the game. He got more playing time after Dayo Odeyingbo tore his Achilles tendon in the game and is now out for the season.
Booker has proven to be a solid pass rusher, having had a great preseason with four sacks in two games before getting injured. That's been the story of Booker, though, as he's played well in preseason and been lackluster in the regular season.
Tryon-Shoyinka is seen more as a depth player for the Bears on the bench. Booker is now taking a bigger role on the defense and has a chance to elevate himself into a full-time starter. Bears fans have been livid about Odeyingbo's poor play, so it's the perfect opportunity for Booker to step in and take the job.

Bears fans will leave the trade deadline wildly underwhelmed with what general manager Ryan Poles did on the defensive line, but it's a chance to put all their eggs into the Booker basket as he could end up being a special player.
