That would be a good move for them.

The Chicago Bears fan base has been begging and pleading general manager Ryan Poles to get aggressive this offseason and make a trade for a top-end edge rusher, and there might actually be one that would work pretty well for the team if they did it.

While appearing on 104.3 The Score in Chicago, FOX Sports television host Danny Parkins discussed the Bears' offseason and made a trade suggestion. Parkins believes the Bears should make a trade for Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby, a move discussed this offseason, and also thinks they should call Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

"If the Bears make a trade for Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby or someone like that, those odds are going skyrocket. If you want to bet on the Bears, I would do it now. Yeah, listen, Myles Garrett, everyone is assuming that's not going to happen, and okay, maybe not. He just got the huge contract extension, but he loved Jim Schwartz. Jim Schwartz just resigned as the defensive coordinator in Cleveland because, you know, he didn't get the head coaching job. Myles Garrett was just on Micah Parsons' podcast a couple of days ago, saying that the next step for him is to hoist a Lombardi and be Super Bowl MVP. Don't see a real path to that happening in Cleveland. They need to tear it down. They don't have a franchise quarterback, they got $46 million committed to Deshaun Watson next year, they got a first-time head coach, they got two first-round picks. If I was running Cleveland, I would be looking at trading a 30-year-old Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett for multiple first-round picks, absolutely."

Bears suggested to go after Myles Garrett in a trade

Garrett would be a no-brainer move for any NFL team as he is coming off the best season for a defensive end in league history with an NFL-record 23 sacks in the season and winning Defensive Player of the Year. While he was discussed throughout last season in trade rumors, the Browns have maintained a strong stance that Garrett will not be traded.

This offseason could change things with a new head coach, Todd Monken, there and Schwartz out the door. Garrett can't be happy about how things are going, and if he is serious about pursuing a Super Bowl title, Cleveland is not the place for him, but Chicago would be.

The Bears are literally one pass rusher away from being Super Bowl contenders after having just 35 sacks a season ago. Montez Sweat led the way with 10, but he needs more help from his defense to improve that side of the ball.

A trade for Garrett would require at a minimum two first-round picks, but more likely three or four, since he's already a Hall of Famer. While a trade seems unlikely, the Bears would be crazy not to throw the kitchen sink at trying to get one of the greatest pass rushers in NFL history.
