The buzz in Chicago is insane right now after the game that Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had in the 31-3 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.
Williams finished the game, completing 17 of 28 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns, with zero interceptions, adding 13 rushing yards on three carries in the win. One moment, though, defined Williams as a quarterback as he threw an out-of-this-world 22-yard touchdown to DJ Moore in the back of the end zone with traffic all around.
That moment was something the crew at 670 The Score had to ask about with Bears linebacker T.J. Edwards after Williams said that he can make any throw. Edwards couldn't disagree with him on that.
"He ain't lying. We've seen it in practice. We all know the talent that he has, but I think the confidence he's playing with right now is great."
Williams is showing how truly special he is
The gift that Williams has as a quarterback is something any player would kill to have. His ability to run out of the pocket and make any throw is truly special to watch, as it almost feels like a once-in-a-generation moment.
All Bears fans would love for him to improve the accuracy, though, as that is holding him back from truly being a top-five quarterback in the NFL. Bears head coach Ben Johnson said it's about him having more plays and adjustments to add to his plate, which has sometimes affected where Williams should go with the football.
The mental part of the game for Williams is a work in progress as Johnson and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle work on that with the second-year quarterback. Once Williams can unleash that part of his game, though, it is going to be incredible to watch.
