It's just another week where Chicago Bears fans can't help but stress about who is going to play and who is going to be out of their upcoming game.
The Bears' first injury report of Week 6 came out with some surprising results. A team desperate for a bye week to get healthy certainly didn't do anything to become 100% healthy.
A total of 11 players showed up on the injury report. Four of them did not practice, while three others were limited in their practice.
There were some big names, like T.J. Edwards, Kyler Gordon, and Austin Booker, who practiced after missing multiple games prior to Week 6. One player who did not practice is crucial to what the Bears need to do against the Washington Commanders on Monday.
Grady Jarrett's potential loss could be massive for Bears
The Bears know all too well what happened the last time Jarrett was not active. Against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4, they surrendered a staggering 240 yards on the ground in their 25-24 win.
While they did come up with the win, they got lucky with a blocked field goal. Otherwise, the storyline would have been how the lack of a rush defense cost them the game.
For the last couple of weeks, Jarrett has been dealing with a knee injury. While he has been able to fight through it for the most part, it did not hold up enough for him to play in the Raiders matchup.
Jarrett must come back to the defense line because the Bears are ranked 31st in the NFL against the run, allowing 164.5 yards per game. Their opponents, the Commanders, happen to be the best rushing offense in the NFL, putting up 156.4 yards per game this season.
Chicago does not have the run-stoppers on the defensive line to be able to hold up against Washington. Jarrett is the key to it all as he is a veteran and a leader within the defense.

If there is a way for Jarrett to play, it will be needed. It appears that at least Edwards might play, which will help, but it all starts up front, and Jarrett can easily set the tone with him being right in the middle of everything.
