Thomas Brown continues to make a strong case for replacing Matt Eberflus
Another week, another embarrassing loss for the Chicago Bears.
The Bears found another way to lose, this time in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings 30-27, where there were several coaching blunders to led to some dysfunction.
This game was going to come down between offensive coordinator Thomas Brown against Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores' blitzing defense. Brown once again called a great game as Williams completed 32 of 47 passes for 340 yards and 2 TDs.
It is difficult to ignore the impact Thomas Brown is making on Caleb Williams right now
The numbers Williams posted the last two games speaks to the success Brown has had in his first two games as the Bears' offensive coordinator. He also gave high praise, describing his that allows him to play free and loose. Brown has already made a huge impact in his first two games as an offensive coordinator than Shane Waldron did in his nine games.
Brown is confident and has leadership skills, while Eberflus always looks timid and conservative. And it was on full display once again as his coaching contributed to another gut-wrenching loss while he continued to give out meaningless postgame pressers and his HITS principle that no longer resonates inside the locker room.
There is no point in keeping Eberflus until the end of the season when the damage is already done. Thomas Brown deserves an opportunity to be an interim head coach since he is already considered a head coaching candidate around the league. His performance in the last two games has given the Bears a serious option. It is time the Bears find out if he is capable of being more than just a good offensive coordinator.
