Despite their Week 11 loss to the Green Bay Packers, there was some encouraging progress from the team's offense under new offensive coordinator Thomas Brown.

Matt Eberflus fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. When Brown held his first press conference as the Bears' offensive coordinator, it was clear that he had the energy that the team never saw from Waldron.

In just one game, Brown made the offense look much more competent than Waldron did in his nine games as the offensive coordinator. Any Bears fans watching the game today saw a significant difference between Caleb Williams under Brown and the rookie quarterback who had regressed under Waldron over the previous three games.

Thomas Brown's instant success questions why Shane Waldron was ever hired.

Ironically, the Bears interviewed Brown and were lucky in hiring him to be the passing game coordinator largely due to his past experience with Waldron when they were together with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020.

Yes, the offense committed their share of sloppy penalties that stalled the drives. But today's loss was more on Eberflus.

Matt Eberflus continues to coach not to win but tries to find a silver lining or moral victory after a loss that is becoming too tiresome and infuriating whenever he speaks.

The progression of Caleb Williams in Brown's offense is now the sole focus of the season for the Bears. One game doesn't tell the whole picture, but it was encouraging nonetheless after weeks of incompetence.

If the Bears' offense continues to progress under Brown with Williams; development at the forefront, it will only add to the fact that Eberflus isn't great at hiring coordinators.
