Where Has This Team Been?

AUTHOR: beargogglebob | IN: Bears, Breaking News, Fanzone/Tailgating, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

Welcome back Chicago Bears, we missed you.  Somehow the Bears were able to channel a team from last year that was able to produce big points and limit opposing offenses.  The last two games have been an example of how quickly the Bears can turn things around next season and get back in the playoffs.  This is the NFC after all and the level of competition fluctuates constantly.
We have all off season to talk about this team and what they can do to improve.  Let’s just take a moment to enjoy this victory and remember how our team can take [...]

Bears vs. Saints Preview

AUTHOR: beargogglebob | IN: Bears, Breaking News, Fanzone/Tailgating, Gameday, Rumors | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

I’m going to change up my usual pregame analysis of both sides of the ball because, to be quite frank, there’s no point.  The Saints are playing for an outside shoot at a playoff spot and the Bears are playing for pride, which is a nice way of saying the season has been over for a while.  However, there are still some things to focus on for the game for Bears fans.
There will not be any rematch against Reggie Bush for his antics last year at the NFC Championship game.  Interesting enough, his back-up Aaron Stecker now has a sprained [...]

Looking Inward

AUTHOR: beargogglebob | IN: Bears, Fanzone/Tailgating, Rumors | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

We will have all off season to examine what players the Bears might get through free agency, although I’m already growing tired of the Donovan McNabb soap opera. Any great team has to be able to develop talent from within, and if last week’s game taught us anything, it’s that this team can rise back to the top of the NFL just as quickly as it fell to the bottom. To do so, the Bears have to not only have a good off season, but make up for the mistakes they made this past off season.
According to my [...]

Cheeseheads not so Gouda at Soldier Field

What’s this??  Adrian Peterson runs for 100 yards rushing against the great Packer defense?  Kyle Orton finds his tight end Desmond Clark for a touchdown and then Greg Olsen for the two-point conversion?  Multiple turnovers by the Bears special teams by blocking punts?  Brian Urlacher intercepting a Brett Favre pass and running for a touchdown??  Did I somehow time travel to last season??
Turns out the Bears were able to turn back the clock on Sunday and manufacture the most one-sided victory of the season against the hated Packers.  Everything the Bears tried actually worked.  The screen pass that has come [...]

Packers Offense v. Bears Defense
The Bears gave fans a glimpse into what this season could have been with a brief reminder of how dominant the Bears defense is on the field.  Nathan Vasher proved to be a key element to creating turnovers and lived up to both his nickname of the “Interceptor” and his long term contract.  If only he was on the field the past couple months, things may have turned out differently.  I was also extremely impressed by the play of rookie Matt Toeaina, who played well enough on Monday night to earn a chance at a roster [...]

4 Bears Named Starters For Pro Bowl

AUTHOR: beargogglebob | IN: Bears, Fanzone/Tailgating | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Chicago Bears may not have to worry about playing football in January, but a couple players will get the opportunity to play in February.
Devin Hester destroyed the competition for a spot on the roster in deserving fashion with another dominant year on special teams.  Few players demand so much attention on the field to a degree that teams would rather give the Bears the ball at the 40 yard line rather than kick to him.  Now if only the Bears offense could make teams hurt for giving them field position.  Imagine a Bears offense that could put up points [...]

Here is a classic commercial of “The Fridge” and “The Punky QB” enjoying some coca-cola classic. What happened to great commercials like these?

Bears v. Vikings Preview

Bears Offense vs. Purple People Eaters

The Bears officially hand over the starting quarterback duties to Kyle Orton Monday night. He has a good starting record after bringing the Bears to 10 wins in his starting season. However, that was a time when the Bears had a dominant defense that could change a game and score touchdowns all by itself. The best hope for Orton is to get the ball to Adrian Peterson and Greg Olsen as much as humanly possible. Given the resurgence of the Viking defense they will likely shut down the running game and [...]
