Lance Briggs seeks razor endorsement deal

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Bears | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Do I see an endorsement deal on the way?  Move over Tiger Woods and… those other two guys!   Chicago Bears Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs reportedly cut himself while shaving.  No biggie, right?  Most of us have cut ourselves while trying to get those pesky whiskers right under the nose.  But I don’t know anyone who cut themselves shaving and had a bandage like this ON THEIR HAND.

For Lance’s sake, I am glad he wasn’t doing any “yardwork” or this situation could have been much worse for his social life!  Briggs, who had an appearance at the cell phone store over [...]

Chicago Bears Draft Summary – SuperSized Edition!!!

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Bears, Draft | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

Maybe I was a little overambitious trying to do a separate post for each of the nine, yes nine, Day 2 players, so I’ll sum up all of the Bears‘ picks here.  I’ve pulled my original posts for the first two players selected into this post to have one giant draft summary chalked full of video clip highlights and all that the true Bears fan needs to know about our new guys.  Feel free to post your comments and grades in the Comments section.  Make sure to check out my take after all of the summaries.

Bears finally draft a wide receiver

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

With the 35th pick in the 3rd round, #99 overall, the Bears select wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias out of Oklahoma.  Iglesias was linked to the Bears in many pre-draft rumors.  Iglesias brings some size to the position, checking in at 6′2″ and 195 lbs.  Another pick right around the corner.  Finally, someone for Cutler to throw to besides Hester!!!

The Chicago Bears finally select…

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Jarron Gilbert, DE, San Jose
Ht: 6′ 5″
Wt: 280
This from Scout.com:
Gilbert is a versatile lineman who has outstanding athleticism. He has a great frame and could add more mass. He can play inside or outside and flashes the ability to be a tremendous threat behind the line of scrimmage. He has long arms and delivers a quick punch to gain an advantage. He holds up well against double teams and disengages quick enough to track down a ball carrier. He’s viewed as a tweener.
And in case the Bears ever need someone to jump out of a pool, here’s this video that’s [...]

LOWER THE BOOM – DRAFT DAY 1 EDITION

AUTHOR: Boomer | IN: Bears, Draft, Lower the Boom | COMMENTS: None Yet

Let me preface my LOWER THE BOOM by saying that I understand that the Jay Cutler trade was a HUGE component of the Chicago Bears draft day.  I get it.  I appreciate what went into making that trade happen and will stand by the trade regardless of how everything with Cutler ultimately turns out.  I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again; Jerry Angelo identified a glaring hole on the Bears and made a bold move to address it.  Thank you Jerry!
Thank being said, WTF is going on up at Halas Hall?  The Bears entered the draft Saturday with only [...]
