The Detroit Lions make their first trip to Soldier Field since the 2010 season opener, “process of the catch” fiasco on November 13th.  Since both the Lions and Bears are in the thick of the NFC playoff race, Fox has decided to move kickoff back to 3:15 Central to make the game the featured late game in the double header package. Clipped from: espn.go.com (share this clip) If you were hoping that the Bears and Matt Forte find some common ground over the bye week and get a contract extension worked out, guess again.  ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that barring a major breakthrough between now and February, the Bears will use the Franchise tag on Matt Forte.  Forte isn’t too excited about the prospect.

Another 4-1 week.  As happy as I was with back-to-back 4-1 weeks, I was most disappointed with Baltimore last week.  I did enough of a soapbox speech last week about gambling, so let’s just get into last’s weeks picks. Well, the Beloved are on a bye this week and generally I commit to Mrs. DeCon that I will have a bye week from watching football too, but things are heating up fantasy-wise.  Lots of RBs hurt last week and still more that likely will be out this week from lingering injuries, not to mention bye weeks, so playing the waiver wire is critical.  Check out my picks for this week…on the other side…

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Chicago Bears have released veteran safety Chris Harris.   It’s not totally shocking considering he got demoted and couple of weeks ago and subsequently asked for a trade just a day before the trade deadline. Harris hasn’t had his best season and it’s been reported that he’s been in Lovie’s doghouse since Week 1 against Atlanta, but given the Bears’ struggles at safety, it’s still an interesting move.  I don’t know who the Bears will bring in off the street that will be better than Harris, but they did work [...]
