Fans are searching throughout the draft for some sort of young hope at quarterback. Jake Fromm, Jacob Eason, Jalen Hurts, and Anthony Gordon are the popular names.

However, Fromm showed this weekend that he just does not have the arm to win games in the NFL. Eason is not very mobile and may have locked in that he will be gone by the Bears pick. Jalen Hurts has all of the intangibles, and athleticism, but when he throws, his stock drops going all the way back to the Senior Bowl.

Gordon had a nice Senior Bowl but showed at the combine that he is physically below average. His weight at 205 pounds is in the 6th percentile amongst quarterbacks and is a full 19 pounds smaller than Gardner Minshew. He does not have the juice that even Minshew had.

This leaves us with little options after this weekend. Bears fans, meet James Morgan. Morgan has the size and arm needed, and is just mobile enough to suffice.

Morgan played 2019 with a shoulder injury, and was much better in 2018. However, he showed in at the combine that the 2019 injury is behind him and he is completely healthy. With that in mind, he tore up all of the throwing drills, making every throw, and showing a much smoother release than his 2019 tape.

Morgan has the height, arm, and showed improvement thanks to his health. If there is a quarterback to rise in the coming months his name is James Morgan.
