Consensus top 20 players available for Chicago Bears Day 2
With the first round now finished we are going to start looking at who is the best players available for the Chicago Bears. Using the Athletic consensus board, we are going to rank the top players that have been ranked across multiple big boards.
However, this will have a Chicago Bears spin. Positions and players that are not needs are not going to be included, so it focuses solely on what the Bears may do, as well as who to watch on Friday.
1. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame, LB
Danny Trevathan is getting old, and the hole at safety beside Eddie Jackson is only temporarily there. He can help Trevathan in coverage and be a third safety in the box. The big board has him as such a value that if he fell to 52, they would have to take him.
2. Azeez Ojulari, Georgia, EDGE
Ojulari is another one who the Bears would have to at least consider if he fell. Once regarded as a top-round player, Ojulari could get on the field early as a run-stuffer to help Robert Quinn.
3. Teven Jenkins, RT, Oklahoma State
I did not even include Jenkins in the 5 tackles who could fall to 52 because I have to assume he will be gone. He should arguably be number one on this board, but we will stick with his consensus ranking.
4. Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
Another player who is too good to pass, even with Tashaun Gipson. Moehrig is versatile and can play in the slot as well as in the box.
5. Landon Dickerson, C, Alabama
The best attribute of Dickerson is that he played everywhere from tackle to guard and center in college. He is just too good to pass up.
6. Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss
A slot option who could immediately upgrade over Anthony Miller.
7. Terrace Marshall, WR, LSU
In our perfect scenario, Justin Fields teams up with Terrace Marshall. Could it really happen?
8. Samuel Cosmi, LT, Texas
The high-end athleticism makes you think he will not be there at 52, but if he is that would be a treat for the Bears.
9. Rondale Moore, Purdue, WR
Rondale Moore is the ultimate gadget player and would be a great fit in a Matt Nagy offense.
10. Asante Samuel, CB, Florida State
Defense is not a huge need, but Samuel would be a find a cornerback. he can play slot and outside and has a knack for turning the ball over.
11. Creed Humphrey, C, Oklahoma
Getting Cody Whitehair out of center for good would be a win for the Bears. Sam Mustipher is nice, but Creed Humphrey has much more upside.
12. Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
We knew the length of Eichenberg was going to cause a fall. Now we have to wonder how far.
13. Pat Friermuth, TE, Penn State
Crazier things have happened than Matt Nagy lining up multiple tight ends and having Freirmuth with Kmet for years to come.
14. Dillon Radunz, LT, North Dakota State
Round 1 talk was too rich, but this guy is seriously in play for pick 52 now.
15. Richie Grant, S, Central Florida
You do not pass up the chance to get a versatile slot/box safety who can get on the field right away.
16. Jalen Mayfield, RT, Michigan
Call it a hunch, but Jalen Mayfield has so many questions in his draft profile that he will not only be there at 52 but in the third round as well.
17. Ifeatu Melifonwu, CB, Syracuse
A physical outside cornerback who could slowly step in over Desmond Trufant.
18. Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia
Campbell profiles similarly to Jaylon Johnson and the two will go in the same draft range. This is a great fit for the scheme.
19. Dyami Brown, WR, UNC
Talk about a big-play threat. Justin Fields can sling it deep, and Brown just finds ways to get the ball in his hands deep down the field.
20. Amon-Ra St. Brown. WR, USC
St. Brown is likely a slot in the NFL and that pushes him down, but he would be a great scheme fit in a timing-based offense such as Matt Nagy.
