Dominique Robinson 2022 NFL Draft Profile Scouting Report with comparison
NFL Comparison for Dominique Robinson
Looking into some athletic comparisons that have similar production and draft rankings draws us to two players with close profiles. The best NFL comparison for Dominique Robinson is D.J. Wonnum, but Kyler Fackrell can make sense in some ways as well.

The comparison is strong for Dominique Robinson to D.J. Wonnum because both were very raw, but both flashed immense athletic upside, both at the NFL combine and on the college football field. Still, we saw nine tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks from Wonnum during his last NFL season, and Robinson had 8.5 tackles for loss to go with 4.5 sacks in his last year.
This caused Wonnum to fall to day three, and that is likely where we see Robinson fall. However, in the case of Wonnum, we saw that the bet on the upside was worth it. He had three sacks as a rookie, then exploded for eight last season. Some were clean-up work, but the athletic upside puts you into opposition to make those types of plays.
Fackrell is a pass rusher, but also played off of the ball. If the Chicago Bears saw Robinson as a 4-3 SAM rusher, they could use him in a similar manner to Fackrell, or in a 4-3 scheme, it would be a role that Bruce Irvin has often had. Fackrell and Robinson share a similar trait in their change of direction skills. This helped Fackrell play in space, but could help Robinson improve as a run defender.
Overall, Fackrell went 88th overall while D.J. Wonnum went 117th. This is a good range to project Dominique Robinson to be selected in the 2022 NFL draft. Fackrell may have went a touch high, while seeing the results of Wonnam may intrigue a team to jump closer to 100.
So, the next question becomes whether that is too high for him?
