5 must-watch players in the Chicago Bears vs Chiefs preseason game
Must-watch Chicago Bears in preseason Week 1: Justin Fields, QB
I think this one is pretty obvious. The Chicago Bears’ future depends on the success of Justin Fields. He doesn’t have to be lights out and rumors are he will only see 10 to 15 plays. However, when a player is this important to a franchise, they are instantly a must-watch.
Reports are coming out of camp that Justin Fields has been stringing together some nice practices as of late. His mechanics have improved thanks to the help of Luke Getsy and Andrew Janocko. Let’s also give the sophomore quarterback most of the credit. He has been a machine, not only with his own development but encouraging the development of others.
What I will be looking for from Fields is how he progresses through his reads, and how quickly he is able to decipher the defense and get the ball out of his hands. Keep an eye on his feet and how he’s standing while throwing the football. These are the most important parts of his mechanics. If Fields can complete 60% or more of his passes and the offense has a bit of a flow to it, I won’t care if he throws a touchdown or not. What I don’t expect to see is all handoffs or called QB runs.
