Bears veteran hasn't played a game in Chicago and he might already be trade bait

He might be gone already?

Remember when center Drew Dalman retired from the NFL and the Chicago Bears had to make a trade with the New England Patriots to get Garrett Bradbury as the replacement? Well, there might be a chance that he never takes a snap in Chicago.

The Athletic's Mike Sando shared some interesting insights from his conversation with one NFL executive. Sando thinks the Baltimore Ravens, since they lost starting center Tyler Linderbaum to free agency, might be interested in potentially trading for Bradbury.

"Garrett Bradbury, acquired by Chicago from New England this offseason, would be a logical trade target if the Bears like what they see from Jones, the center they drafted in the second round. Bradbury played at NC State when current Ravens offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford coached the position for the Wolfpack.

'Baltimore is going to let everybody who can snap the ball try,” an exec said. “That would not be a bad trade. If I’m Chicago, I would not trade him until I know what I have with Logan Jones and know he is the guy.'”

Would the Bears actually consider trading Garrett Bradbury away?

Well, the Bears did select Iowa center Logan Jones in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, so Chicago has the center of the future. Jones was one of the top center prospects in the draft, as he blew scouts away with his 4.9-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

If the Bears truly believe Jones is ready to start from Day 1, it might be worth it to just send Bradbury packing again. The Ravens are desperate enough for a center and might give up a fourth or fifth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft to acquire him.

One problem might be that a trade like this might be a bad look for the Bears to move on from a player they just traded for a few months ago. That kind of trade might make some players worried about the Bears' loyalty to them.

Chicago is probably better off playing it safe and keeping Bradbury, but if the Ravens make the right offer, it might be worth it.
