The Chicago Bears made quite the statement to the rest of the NFL with their last-second 25-24 win over the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football.

It was different for Bears fans to see a team consistently winning and doing what they needed to come out on top. The biggest factor in their win was creating three turnovers by the Commanders, which cost Washington points and time on the clock.

Most Bears fans would say it wasn't a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination, but a win's a win. Bears head coach Ben Johnson said the same thing to the media, hinting to everyone that they are a team to watch out for.

"It’s far from a mistake-free game, really on all three phases. We still haven’t played the best football that we’re capable of playing yet, so that’s what’s encouraging to me as a coach. When it’s ugly, we’re still finding a way to win, and we’re developing that belief. But at the same time, holy cow, how far can we push this thing? Let’s see how good we can really get this season. There’s a long way that we still can go, and I think that they see that and they feel that. I’m really encouraged by it. It wakes me up in the morning and gets me going."

Bears are only going to get better after their third straight win

There are things the Bears need to clean up on. The penalties are the number one thing, as they had nine of them for 84 yards. While there were some penalties like the Theo Benedet illegal formation call that was questionable at best, there is justification that the Bears need to be more discipline on that front.

The one aspect of their game that everyone has noticed them improve upon is the running game. Chicago ran for 145 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. D'Andre Swift finally had his breakout game of the season with 108 yards on 14 carries, averaging a staggering 7.7 yards per carry.

Watching Caleb Williams mature before fans' eyes has been pleasant. Williams was far from perfect in the game, but for the second straight game led a game-winning score. He's showing that he's got that clutch gene in him.

Chicago is riding a ton of momentum going into their Week 7 matchup against the New Orleans Saints with a chance to start 4-2 for the second consecutive season. Bears fans just hope they can keep the momentum going all season and not just through October.
