Caleb Williams' blunt response about final INT won't sit well with Bears fans

Have to make that throw.

The heartache is still there for Chicago Bears fans after coming so close to beating the Green Bay Packers in Week 14, but falling short 28-21. One moment in particular will haunt fans for a while.

On fourth-and-one in Green Bay territory with 27 seconds left, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams lobbed a pass in the end zone towards tight end Cole Kmet, but Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon picked it off
to seal the game. When watching the play, Williams had Kmet open if he put more air on the ball, but it was underthrown.

After the game, the media asked Williams about the play and what happened. The rising-star quarterback was trying to help his tight end.

“I tried to give him a big-boy ball,” Williams said via The Athletic's Dan Wiederer, “try and let him go up for it. Because I ended up seeing (Nixon) trying to sprint. So I tried to slow (Cole) up and gave him a chance.”

Williams also added one part that might not sit well with Bears fans: whether the throw itself was difficult or not.

“Not tough at all. Just got to give him a better ball.”

Bears fans are going to feel frustrated by that answer

Williams finished the game, completing 19 of 35 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. He added 15 rushing yards on four carries.

The reality Bears fans have to realize is that Williams is not going to be the most accurate passer this season. That part of his game has just not developed yet, which is super frustrating since Chicago is a playoff team right now.

Williams' completion percentage continues to decline each week, as he is now at 57.8% on the season, down from 62% at one point. He hasn't completed over 60% of his passes in a game since Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Some have to wonder when Williams will improve his accuracy, as it has now directly affected the outcome of a game. If he throws that ball in a spot that Kmet can only catch it, the Bears are either going for the tie or might go for two points to win the game.

While patience is a virtue for Bears fans when it comes to Williams, at some point, the conversation will be had about whether he will ever improve in that category.
