The sports could not stop talking about the viral video of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams at training camp, looking visibly upset after running a drill. Well, Williams had to answer for it with the media.
Williams' response was about as perfect as it can be, as one of the reporters started asking the question about it, and Williams couldn't help but start laughing out loud. He then proceeded to explain the situation.
"It's hilarious. They blew it up. It is what it is. So, it's a quick-delivery drill. You catch it, you're not trying to get the laces or anything. It's not like you're going through reads. It's catch, deliver, and try to deliver to the bottom left corner. We're trying to aim as if it's a screen. It's a competition between us and the guys, how fast you can get it, how accurate you can get it out. They just so happened to blow that one out and not the other ones. It's a fun drill to work on accuracy and not using the laces, and also just getting your feet up under you and working on throws."

That all makes 100% sense, and not many Bears fans would argue against having some friendly competition at camp. There is one Williams clip from camp that should make the rounds on social media, but many will likely miss it.
Williams made a play that Patrick Mahomes would be proud of
The Bears' social media page has been showing clips of the top moments from camp. They shared one with Williams, where he made a perfect sidearm throw to tight end Colston Loveland for a completion that had Bears fans buzzing.
Be nice if this throw got shared all over the internet https://t.co/QwKHjJ2mbe

Training camp has been a rollercoaster for Williams, as he got off to a slow start in Week 1, making poor decisions and seeing the Bears' first-team offense get kicked off the field by new head coach Ben Johnson due to multiple pre-snap issues. Things have started to settle down over the last two weeks, with some inconsistent play, but good progress being shown by Williams.
Everyone overreacted to the first viral video because Johnson's focus this offseason has been working on Williams' body language when things don't go his way on the field. It happened throughout last year, where fans could see Williams upset and down on himself when he should have been lifting his team up.
This is a positive clip that all fans should be talking about, but it's going to go by the way side because it isn't worthy of headlines. Instead, people will find other storylines to create that is negative towards Williams.

The season starts soon enough for Williams to silence his critics and prove them all wrong. His sidearm pass is enough for Bears fans to know this guy is a legit franchise QB.
