As training camp begins and the Chicago Bears prepare for the 2026 NFL season, numerous sportsbooks are disrespecting Caleb Williams ' MVP odds.
Currently, Williams' odds to win MVP are at +1300 on DraftKings and +1500 on FanDuel. When you factor in the incredible season he put together last autumn, these low odds just don't make any sense. Not only do they call out Williams and his ability to lead the Bears, but they also call out the entire offense.
Williams, who is arguably the best quarterback of the 21st Century for the Bears, put together a sophomore season for the ages last season. Williams racked up 3,942 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, along with a 90.1 passer rating, while taking over a brand new offense under head coach Ben Johnson. He also led the Bears to their first winning record and NFC North title since 2018, first playoff berth since 2020, and first playoff victory since 2010. Oh yeah, and he'll be gracing the cover of Madden 27 when it comes out this August.
Caleb Williams got the extra motivation he needed for the 2026 season
I mean, how much more does Williams need to accomplish to earn the respect he deserves? Even though it's true that quarterbacks like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and obviously Patrick Mahomes are always in the running for MVP, Williams deserves to be in the top five.
This appalling snub should light a fire in the entire Bears locker room, especially on offense. Williams might not be able to control the odds he was given, but as he enters Year 2 in Johnson's offense, it would not surprise anyone if sparks fly on the Bears' offense every Sunday and Williams is firmly in the MVP conversation.
Thankfully, Williams won't have to do it alone since the bulk of the Bears' starting skill players will be returning from last season. Some viable passing options Williams will have at his disposal are Luther Burden, Rome Odunze, Jahdae Walker, and then Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet at tight end. Pair this with a smashmouth run game featuring D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, and the league could be in serious trouble.
If Drake Maye could shock the world and become a top MVP candidate with the New England Patriots last season, then anything is possible.

At the end of the day, the MVP award should go to the best player on the best team. If Williams can turn the offense up a notch and lead the Bears to a top seed in the NFC, it would be tough for the voters and Bears fans to ignore.
